My Kapex isn't sucking dust away as it has been from the start. I have it hooked up to a Festool vac with the large hose. I can't feel any airflow from the rubber dust shroud. I tested the vac and it is generating a lot of suction.

I can't see anything blocking airflow, but I have not removed the blade.

I am cutting at a 90 degree angle.

The last time I used the Kapex ( a few days ago ), everything was normal. This isn't a gradual thing.

Ideas?

If you Ct has suction at the end of the hose and not at the rubber boot area then you have a blockage somewhere in the shroud.  If you have suction at the vac but not at the end of the hose you have a blockage in the hose.  If  you have a Ct 22 or 33 you can hook the hose to the lowest exhaust and back feed air thru the Kapex and see if that helps.

With the hose off, you should be able to easily visually inspection from the hose connection all the way down to the rubber "boot" for obstructions. Maybe a small piece of off cut got wedged in there... Be sure to remove power to be safe while inspecting. Removing the blade is also a good idea if you don't see anything.

There was no obstruction.

I was cutting a piece of ebony 2" X 2".

Guess the totally black dust showed up much more than the stuff I normally cut.
