Is the suction dial on the vac turned all the way up?

Do you possibly need the 36mm hose?  Maybe that was the hose being used at the store?

When I played with one, I found the dust collection improved a lot if I was more patient and let the vac have a second or two to spin up to full suction before making the cut. Also be sure a chuck is not partially blocking the hose.

Suction is up all the way, and I'm using the 36mil. Hose.  I checked suction and it is as good as when I first bought the ct22.  I give the saw plenty of start up time too.  No clogs. Did I miss something in the set up?

well, a 1x6 is going to produce a lot more dust than a piece of molding. were you cutting molding at the store?

Hi,

If you have been sanding the fine dust tends to coat the sides (inside) of the vac bag and reduce collection enough to notice with the Kapex or a router. The felt suction does not change much though.  If this is the case open the CT and give the bag a few shakes , it should help.

Also I once had reduced collection and found that the rubber boot was not quite fullly in place. I popped into place and that also returned collection to normal.

Could be the blade too...Negative hook blades have worse dust evacuation than neutral or positive hook. I wonder what blade they had on the display saw? I believe the OEM blade that comes with Kapex is a Z=60 5 degree negative.

Otherwise, slower feed rate, vacuum speed turned all the way up, rubber shroud in place and it's about as good as your going to get on a miter saw.
