Hello,

In the Festool Live Sedge says here:

that the extension bracket is really wide compared to an earlier version for attaching to the Kapex 120 REB model introduced in 2019. From my research there is no change in part number on the extensions. I'm looking for a used set and want to make sure if I go that route I'm not missing anything.

Also the UG cart is unchanged between the 120 EB and 120 REB models, correct?

Thanks,
Matt

Matt, if you're referring to the left & right trimming attachment, then the part numbers are the same back to 2011 along with the UG cart.

At what point / time in the video?

Seth

Hi, the way the extension attach is his point, the new by the pullout, and the old by v groove. guy[attachimg=1]

[member=58842]guybo[/member] That's what I was interested in. What year are those extensions? I wonder if Festool quietly updated the extensions, keeping the same part number.

I think he means the extensions usually sold with Kapex MFT.
The REB model have small totally useless pull out wings that makes the wing attachment really poor. You who have the old model should be happy, as the groove that goes all the way for wing attachment is way better.

Anyway, here’s the narrower old KA-KS: (Now sold individually for CS50/70 with the add on CS70 designation)

Hi, I'm not sure sometime before 2014,however the thumb screw and small lug for attachment on mine, will likely swap for the new plate,(I would look for used). guy

Looked in EKAT, which has different part numbers than sales websites....

There are two sets of extension part numbers:

497352 Trimming attachment KA-UG-R
497353 Trimming attachment KA-UG-L

These use 10020256 Lug support, which in the exploded parts diagram appears to be narrow.

497207 KA-UG 1800 RIGHT
497221 KA-UG 1800 LEFT

These also use 10020256 Lug support, but in the exploded diagram they appear to be the wider version.

So I would guess that based on the length of the part number itself, 10020256 is a superseded part for whatever used to be used on the old UG-L and UG-R, but they didn't update the diagram.  Just under 9 bucks each, USD.

I prefer the diagrams for BMW parts where they list obsolete/superseded part numbers, but I'm just happy EKAT exists at all, so I can't complain too much...

[member=75217]squall_line[/member] Perfect thank you that clears it up. I should've gone and done the research myself but I honestly didn't think to check ekat on this one. Harley uses superceded part numbers as well. 85607-98A then B, then C. They switched over to a ridiculous 100082893 type number around 2011 which no longer tells you the year the part was introduced. That 98 at the end indicates 1998.
