How about getting a dedicated short kapex hose?  A 1.75 meter hose increases dust extraction efficiency and is easier to store and transport than a 3.5, 5 or 7 meter hose. 

We take the hassel out of buying a hose and connectors just to be left with short leftovets.  We make them for you in our shop.  They usually sell for $90, but in honor of the sale we are discounting them to $85.

What about us folks that already have the full length 35mm hose, are there any connectors available to modify the length?

Yep,  You can purchase a tool end and vac end connector, cut the hose and put the new ends on.

You will have two shorter hoses.
