kapex july 1st

Can't argue with that Steve. 1300.00 is 1300.00 whether the saw is worth it or not.

But for 200.00 you can not do the same things as you can with the Kapex.  It's a different animal. Maybe the 600.00 yellow tool can do what the kapex can do, probably not with the same finesse. Either way after a year or two or more of cleaning up after the yellow tool I am sure the hours and aggravation will cost you that difference.

I do get it. Coming up with the money all at once is a problem. I will still get one, its part of doing business. Plus I have the tools I need to make the business work. If someone doesn't have all the tools they need, I agree, spend the 1100.00 on the tools to complete your shop setup. Then graduate up.

I know you can never have enough tools. But if its between a Kapex or getting a variety of tools, I would get the variety also. There is only so much you can do with one Miter saw.

Steve, every time you use that yellow saw after July first, you are going to be thinking, I wonder if I should have purchased the green one. hmmmmmm maybe, maybe not..until one day you end up owning the yellow one and the green one.
Oh sorry that would be me...

Well, I have the $600 yellow one (prior version, larger bearings/table).  I got it from Amazon when it was $350 on clearance.  As a hobbyist, there's nothing that the Kapex offers that makes it worth the extra $900 to me.  I like the smaller size and the lasers, but mine makes perfectly good miters.  With a Forrest Chopmaster blade, the cuts are as smooth as glass.  I just don't see the added value on this one.

Please don't attack me, as I've got most everything else...

Brandon no attacking.

Even many professional woodworkers do not see the value in getting the Kapex. Its personal preference.

If the Kapex will collect as much dust as they say, that is the reason I want it. I believe you are correct that when cross cutting a 6" board most miter boxes work well enough for any project. I have survived with my Ridgid and a DeWalt before that, for many years. I have always dreamed of a dustless Miter box with a great laser that can cut wide boards squarely throughout the entire cut.

For as much as I use it the Kapex will be a good investment for me.
