First, my apologies if this is under the wrong discussion heading!
So, the fridgid cold of New England wreaked havoc on the brittle plastic of my KA-UG carrier. I set it down, it rolled to one side and cracked...I picked it up and both ends fell apart. It felt like slow motion from The Matrix movie but I somehow managed to catch the UG arms before the hit the ground.
Anyway on to my resolution!
I had some 5/8" Baltic Birch in the shop and built these two box ends that fit the UG arms perfectly. I dadoed the top, back & bottom to create a "track" for the strap. The top and bottom are removable in case they ever need to be disassembled or replaced. They're not the prettiest, but I needed to quickly get back up and running! If this has happened to you, maybe it'll light a fire for you! Enjoy!
