Kapex - Local Dealer or Internet?

I just bought one a week ago from my local festool dealer and now they are not selling festool anymore.  I don't know where I will take it now if I have a problem.
not that I think I will have one but you never know.  I don't know if I can take it to a woodcraft if I never bought it there.

I think shipping big items that are power tools is just asking for trouble.  all the shippers aren't going to care what's in that big heavy box and how many people can really pack the kapex or other big tool away like it was originally.  I never even got a box for my kapex.  The dealer threw it out.  It had never been used but it was out in the store.  It was never plugged in before I bought it, so I took the chance and got one.

I didn't have to worry about it showing up to my doorstep in a busted up box from ups or fedex because the driver had a bad day that day.

Dan,

No need to worry.  Here's our local tool repair guy.  Just bring it in to him and it'll be blending drinks working in a jiffy.

Nothing to worry about. If you should need to send it in for repair
You can call Festool service and they can ship you a box with
The styrafoam corners.  Festool won't let you down.

Thanks Bob!  I appreciate that.  Glad to know you are in NJ too.

Bob shipped my Kapex in the original box inside a heavier shipping box.  It arrived in surprisingly good condition considering it traveled UPS ground halfway across the country.

The instructions say to be sure to keep the box so they're both stored in my attic.  Also, the Festool website has instructions for re-packing tools that need to be returned for service.

When I had issues with my kapex I dealt directly with festool.  I saved the box and packaging shipped it out and recieved it back in less then a week.  With a new blade  [thumbs up] .  The only thing my dealer did for me was lend me their kapex.  But if they couldn't my local rep said I could use his.  Contact your local festool rep they are great guys and will go out of their way to help you.

Dan wasn't saying that he needed to ship his Kapex back.  Just in case he did, he wanted to know ahead of time how he was going to do that.
