I own a DeWalt 708 12" sliding compound miter saw and feel that it's time for a change. I am considering the Kapex
and a Bosch GCM12SD glide miter saw. The saw never leaves my shop so the weight really isn't a factor, I am most concerned
with accuracy. Each seems to have n=benefits and drawbacks, but would appreciate a real world comparison.
Thanx in advance.

Replaced an excellent miter saw of another brand with a Kapex.

Advantages of the Kapex were:

1. I could use the saw in my shop due to great dust collection. I had to take the old saw outside to use it.
2.  I can back the Kapex up against a wall due to the way the saw head slides out on the rails.
3.  The stops on both tilt and azimuth are very positive and accurate enough for final cuts for the complex boxes I make.
4. The Festool stand, the Festool vac ( with the large diameter hose ), and the Kapex are very well integrated as a system.

I'm not too pleased with the lasers. They are good enough for carpentry work, but not for high precision. My guess the Kapex  lasers are as good or better than any one else's.

In my opinion, the high quality and precision engineering make the Kapex worth the premium price.

Welcome to the FOG, Jeff.  There are a lot of great reviews and information here on the Kapex.  It is a sweet SCMS and I smile every time I get to use it.
