I am building a kapex miter station and have a few questions.  The kapex will be built into a row of cabinets with a dust extractor below the saw.

First off, I was thinking about getting the Fein Turbo 1 given the slightly more power than the midi and ability to set it up with a hepa filter.  Will the D36 hose fit into the Fein or do I need an adapter. Alternatively, does the Midi work fine with the Kapex and D36 hose.

Second I have routed my hose down a hole in the cabinet top but I notice that the angle coming off the saw is a bit hard.  If I leave enough extra hose to allow the saw to be pulled forward easier, the hose causes some resistance on the way back, getting hung up a bit on the back wall.  Is there a right angle adapter that might work to help out on this or would this just kill the air flow.

Off topic but I used my 1400 router for the first time today to trim up the MDF tops and the dust collection is absolutely amazing.  It really captures alot of the dust when using it on the edges.

Thanks and when I am done I will get some pictures up of the 17 feet of lower and upper cabinets.  Still got many drawers and sliding shelves to make.

For starters, you might want to check out the D50 to Kapex thread that discusses connecting the Kapex to either a D50 or D36 hose using the Non- Antistatic Reducing Sleeve.  IIRC, the Fein extractors will accept any of the Festool hoses.  I don't see where the Feins are anti-static, so you might want to consider that aspect in choosing an extractor.

As to routing your hose, how about leaving some extra and attaching a cable and pulley to take up the slack when retracting the saw?
