I bought the Coliflower zci for the Kapex about six months ago and it works great, but changing the insert is slow and cumbersome. So I took a grinder and a Dremel and five minutes and bada bing bada boom done! I used a utility knife to carve the square end to match the existing bevel on the insert so it can be inserted from the front. To change the insert the old way you had to completely remove the six screws and lift out the zci plate then slide out the insert. To remove the insert now all you need to do is take a screwdriver and pry the insert from the back towards the front of the saw. It only takes seconds and there is no risk of loosing the screws.

ya i wasnt soo happy with the stock fence and plate so i made my own. its a interference fit, the 6 screws to remove for a bevel cut is wack. ive added a pulsing led to the plate and white led on the degree marker. as a stand by light so i know its powered and better visibility plus it looks cool lol

Tee, I love your use of carbon fiber! How did you attach the panels to the fence? Where do you get your carbon fiber?
Cheers

I purchased a Coliflower ZC insert after reading about the ease in changing the said inserts. Well after you own it, it's not quite so easy to change out, being held in with 6 screws. Too much marketing and not enough reality. So I eliminated 4 of the screws which makes it easier, but I really like your version a lot better. [thumbs up]
