Kapex Saw

What is the purpose of the Arbor Guard on the Kapex saw?  I noticed that I lost a screw holding the unit to the blade guard (the slide screw) but I am unsure of what purpose the purpose of the guard is for?  The replacement number of the item is 200214 on the parts site.

It's a UL requirement to prevent people from leaving a wrench in the blade when changing the blade.

In the rest of the world it is not supplied.

It would also prevent the blade from spinning off if the braking action allowed the bolt to unscrew.

Had this happen to mine because a stranger to the saw assembled the arbour washer incorrectly.
