I just finishes making a stand for my Kapex. I got a couple of steel support legs for conveyor systems at a local industrial surplus place (hgrinc.com) for $7 ea and used a 2x4 sheet of MDF for the top ($10). I cut two rows of holes that match the diameter and positions of those of the MFT/3. I cheated a bit on that part and did it on my milling machine. There's a handy tool. I used a boring bar to get the 20.15mm holes. Seems I don't have a 20.15mm drill bit. Almost 51/64's but I don't have one of those either. But it's really not necessary to match the diameter for this sort of thing. Get the feet to fit in and get the saw square on the table and that's fine. I just like having some quality time with the mill.
The Kapex can be mounted forward or back on the table. It is shown forward. I may add some plywood stringers under the MDF for stiffness but I don't know that it's needed. I may also put a stringer across between the legs at the bottom for added stiffness. The legs are adjustable and I can set the height of of the saw anywhere between about 25 and 40". I set it to match the MFT/3 and the saw horses I already made to the same height.
This is no portable unit. It is heavy. Probably 50 lbs or so. But it's stable and adjustable and was intended for shop use. I can drop the Kapex on the MFT/3 in the field. I may have to get some more of these legs for other things around the shop. The adjust-ability is really handy. And the price is right. They must have had 100 of them.
