I just got a new Kapex REB and after unpacking it, I tried removing the workpiece clamp. When I release the clamping lever, the workpiece clamp won't move. It is stuck in the down position. That prevents me from twisting it to remove it.

When I push the lever down, I feel it engage. When I release it, the clamp will move a couple mm , but that's it.  What am I missing?

give it a mild tap or two on the top of the shaft. The latch got stuck. It happens from time to time.

Happy new year!

I had the same problem with my Kapex clamp from the unboxing it was stucked.
After a few days of use it got totally stucked. The problem is caused by deep scratches in the metal after clamping...
Which is absolutely inadmissible. Will see the Festool response for this problem.

I would suggest that you contact your local Festool office rather than wait for a response from Festool in this thread.  Being proactive might very well bring you more immediate satisfaction.

Take a piece of sandpaper and sand off the high spots. Sedge covered this in one of weekly videos.

I never have had any issues with my Kapex (6 years old) hold-down clamp although it is used in 99% of the time when I make cuts.

I can see indents on the bar, pronounced ones on the front. They haven't affected the functioning of the clamp in any way.
