A month or so ago, someone asked me if I had added the Kreg Fence to the infeed MFT to the Kapex. I finally got around to it. It works great for dimensions of 11" and up...which is bulk of my cuts.

What have you done for your infeed?

John,

I have used the Kreg fence here as well. I like it a lot. My fence attaches to the sides of the MFT with 8mm screws though. As such, the fence can also be used as a clamp for other operations.

I attempted a few times to get the fence to extend closer than 11" but didn't find a solution that I was happy with. So, my fence starts at 11" or so as well.

Rey,
I did contemplate adding fence in front of the Kapex fence and lose 3/4" of thew cutting capacity. That way I could make it continuous all the way to the other MFT. I am not very willing to lose the capacity but may try it sometime since it doesn't have to be permanent change.
I don't often require the 12" cutting capacity but it is nice to have. I am getting to cut wider pieces up to 24" by work and turn method. The laser is so accurate that aligning for the 2nd cut is a piece of cake and very accurate. But I have the crosscutting MFT there for that purpose.

For cuts less than 11", I made a MDF 10" gage block. Using 10" makes the math easier than 12".

I have my fence tight in front of the saw fence and never in the last 8 years have ever had to move it becasue of that 3/4" . The fence slides easily from left to right so I can move it all the way to the blade for Zero clearance or move it off the blade 3 to 5" to accommodate angle cuts if I do not want to cut up the fence(the metal, fence face and top measuring scale all move independently from each other). I have been using the Woodhaven fence which is excellent and works just like the Kreg fence. I even have one or two Kreg stops on my fence as they are interchangeable. I always liked that the Woodhaven stuff was compatible with so many other products and rock solid to boot.

great replies.
Les, the 10" gauge block is the answer. I used that on my older fence and plum forgot about it.

Nick,  as always you have a great input.  With my old Hitachi 8.5 slider I has a 3/4 inch fence. It worked fine with less travel and cutting capacity.

Both of you will see these added for next update. and Thanks.
