Hello all

I had a very old Kreg jig that I used all the time with zero problems. I sold it to a guy at work and upgraded to the new K-5 model. I set the drill depth with the little gauge that comes with it. Drilled my holes in 3/4 plywood and used the 1-1/4 screws. When I installed them they poked through just a little bit. I doubled checked it all and it seemed to be just fine. May give Kreg a call Monday but it a pretty simple operation and used one for years and years.  Any thoughts.

I have a k5 and had a similar problem when I forgot to not only set the stop properly on the drill bit but also to properly set the height of the drill guide block within the jig.

Hope this helps

Make sure the wood is seated all the way flat in the clamp as well.

I read the manual again last night and that part seems all good. I went to the Kreg forum site and think I found my answer. The birch plywood I was using is .708 thick and I'm using the setting for .750 thick wood. Take that times 2 and thats almost a .100 difference. I'm going to try lifting the bit of the .100 when setting the depth and run a few test pieces that way.
I will let you know how that works.

I learned the hard way to make sure the wood I was using measured as I thought it should.  I always measure now and it has solved the protruding tip problem.
