Is there a detailed drawing of the most recent KS 120 with dimensions?  I saw one on here, but it was from a few years ago and showed the width at 24 1/8”, while the Festool website shows the width now at 28”. I have a saw stand I made for another miter saw, and I’m trying to figure out if the new Kapex will fit.

24 1/8” is what mine looks like in standard 0° angle (square crosscut).  I suspect the 28” might be measuring when the Kapex angle is set to 60° as seen in my pics attached.  When you do that the black knob/pedal for the angle stop protrudes about 4” from the width of the frame, and the back of the saw protrudes slightly from the left side of the base measuring in at a total 28”.

So since the angle adjustment pedal/knob sits slightly below the work surface I suspect that if you are building a miter saw cavity to place the saw into, you need to account for the full 28”.  Or ensure that the cavity depth is not such that it would impede the knob/front of saw and leave an extra width on the left side for the back to swivel around and exceed the left side width by a bit, although you can see from the pics the back of the saw is going to be much higher than the work surface.  The 28” accounts for that knob/pedal looking at it from front in the pic at the 60° angle.

Hope the pics help.

The footprint of the Kapex is 24-1/8", however to accommodate the 60-degree angle of the righthand swing you must add another 4" to the width of the miter station cavity. I recently completed my Kapex miter saw station and built it 28-7/8" in width and mounted the Kapex off center by one inch to the left due to space considerations. Of course, if you have enough space that would not be necessary.
