Purchased a KS 60 about three months ago (home use only) and only now started to use it. However after only a few cuts when I start to lower the blade the power is cut, when its raised it returns.  [mad]
Anyone experienced this?
I do not expect this from a new machine not to mention the inconvenience of a return.  So much for German engineering!!

[welcome] to the FOG, sorry that you are having this issue with your saw. As we dont yet have this saw in N America, I assume you are in Europe somewhere--- Things happen, you should contact your dealer or Festool in your area for a replacement saw.

Hi

Sorry I did not realise this was a U.S group. (new user of group and festool)

After further investigation I have traced the fault to the last few inches of cable just before it enters the motor which is on quite a tight bend constantly being flexed.  However if you get them over there I wonder if this is a weak point, two thin wires being flexed every time the saw is used.  (this one hardly used at all)

This is not just a US based group, we have plenty of International members. I hope that you get your saw sorted out, once you do, let us know how it is going for you!

Hi
First of all welcome to the forum  [welcome]...and secondly sorry to hear of the issue.
If under 15 days then it goes back to the dealer and will be swapped out for a replacement under SAI. If over this time then fill in the on line form and we will collect and return to an address supplied - there are no shipping costs or charge involved.
If I can help in anyway then drop me a PM and I will assist were I can......keep on the forum as well some great advice can be found on here  [big grin]

As clarification I believe that the tool user with a problem is in the UK.

Hi All

Yes I'm in the UK.
Fault seems to be an internal break in the cable which I had to cut out. Now seems to be working OK.
Hope to get new cable from Festool.

This looks like an interesting group, will get reading I have a lot to learn.

Please consider getting something in writing from Festool that states by servicing this yourself you are not voiding the 3 years warrantee.
