Help:  I am looking for a drive belt for a Laguna Platinum Table Saw.  I did contact Laguna Customer Service and was told; they no longer carry the belt.  I bought the saw in new directly form the company in 2009.  The model is A180003.

The legibility of the text in owner manual which came with the saw is terrible.  So, in addition to a belt, I also need instructions.

Apparently, there are companies jumping to fill that void.

Here is my google search: https://www.google.com/search?q=ser...le saw&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&client=firefox-b-1-m

This company is the first listed that sells service parts for Laguna Saws.  I would contact them and see if they can help.

And their manuals are available online, so maybe that will help.

Thank You.

I was able to get a pdf file of the instruction manual from Laguna Customer Support.

Next week I will call the companies you listed: Beaver and MM tool parts directly.  Looking on each web site today, there wasn't any listing for Table Saw parts.

In the past it has been difficult to get parts from companies, that no longer exist or no longer support older machinery.  Steel City and International General machines for example.  They are machines i purchased new, which at the time had great reviews in Woodworking Magazines.

Maybe it is time to consider a Saw Stop.  I don't expect them to close since it is in the Festool Family.

Thanks.

You don't need Laguana replacement V-belts.  Any decent belt will work just fine.  Automotive belts are not acceptable to use, so don't shop at Napa or any other car part store for your saw belts.

Your saw appears to use three SPZ625 Metric V-belts.  625mm in circumference, 10mm top width, 8mm high.  That size does not seem to be very common.  However, SPZ630 belts are more readily available and are only 5mm longer than the SPZ625.

If you have an Industrial supply or power distribution house nearby, take the belts with you and get their advice.  Try to get a matched set of three, if possible.  If not, there is always Amazon.

Thank You for the information.

Having a rough idea of the belt size should help me.  It appears from the instruction manual, that the belt is easy to remove by simply raising the motor. The tension force is simply gravity.    I noticed the other day, during a periodical dust cleaning of the saw's cabinet, that the belt appears to have some fraying.  That is as far as I have gone.  I didn't wish to take the saw down without having new belt or belts available.

I examined my Laguna table saw drive belt closely today and found the Brand name Gates and the item or part number on the belt: Micro V 320J  K8 for number of ribs.  On close examination, the belt looks okay.

Gates web site has it listed, product number 917103208, description 320J8 MICRO-V. Belt has 8 Ribs, 813mm, 32" Long.

Amazon has the belt listed for $9.99.

Thank you for your help.
