Hi all,

With my work I fit a lot of bedrooms and find myself cutting laminated chipboard panels and sometimes laminated MDF. Have been using a TS55 and managing with the standard 48 tooth blades, however I've just invested in a TSC55 and am wondering if there is a better blade option.

Anyone cutting these materials regularly and if so what blade are you using?
I know Festool do a solid surface/laminate blade...anyone used one on laminated chipboard/MDF....is the cut better than the standard blade, teeth stay sharper longer?

Thanks.

Cut is top notch on the laminate blade. You can get away with using the standard blade for a little while, but it will start to dull quickly and you'll get chipout.

I've personally found the 28t version to work better on that stuff , except for crossctting veneered panels.

Recently tried a Freud blade and it cuts as well as the Leitz/Festool blade. Can't comment yet on longevity cause it's only got a few jobs use.

Edward do you know if the blade part number is 496308 for the laminate blade?
That's the only one I seem to be able to find from Festool to fit the TSC55 here in the UK...but I did find a different part number for a laminate blade looking at another post on here. Might be a typo I guess.

Thanks.

For some reason the European and US part numbers have a different final digit.  The one you give, 496308, is that assigned to it on the Festool.com website.  But in the US, through Festoolusa.com, the part number is 496309.  The latter must have been the one quoted in the post you're referring to.
