Large, adjustable-height MFT

Thanks for posting this.  For folks like me who are (ahem) "vertically challenged", this is a nice option. 

FYI...  You can reference images stored on other forums or in a picture sharing service by adding the link, selecting it and clicking the "Insert Image" button above:

.  This adds "img" tags to the URL like this:

Then the image shows up inline like this:

p.s., the button image that I included above is stored in my FOG Gallery.    In FOG, you can upload images directly to a post.  Or, you can save them permanently in a FOG Gallery and then reference them in posts like I did above.    That's nice when you want to use an image over and over; it's easier that way.  For example, this is a pic in Brice's gallery showing an interesting LR32 Jig:

Great tables guys. I love to see the other ideas everyone has.

This is the beauty of the internet / forums we can see so many ideas all at once. We can be so closed to our own ideas.

These oversized tables really give the MFT new life.

The expanded MFT is wide enough to where you can use the back half for your clamping elements and sanding station and the angle stop set in the middle for cutting.

Thanks for the commpliment. I have really enjoyed this table so far. I was going to make a new traditional" wood working table to replace my 15 year old table when I saw a MFT in the local woodworking tool shop. The standard MFT was too small for my needs but I loved the fixturing posibilities of the MFT.
Here are the details:

The long MFT rails are as described on the Festoolusa website in the "Getting the most out of the MFT" article under "Applications and Tips".
The support rails were purchased from ebay. A company called 8020inc.com sells their over runs on ebay. I used three of their 48" extrusions for support under the MFT frame. See the attached pic for detail. (Extrusion 10S 1020 X 48) go to 8020inc.com or search ebay for aluminum extrusions.
I also mounted supports at the midpoint of each of these extrusions to strengthen the MFT top and reduce sag. again see the attached pic.
The hydraulic scissors lift also came from ebay. I can't remenber the mfg. but it will lift appox. 2000 lbs. and I think the range is about 18" to 48". It came with the locking castors and cost about $200.
I laminated both sides of the MFT tops to keep glue from sticking. (I had some left-over plastic laminate.)
