[eek]Just wondering if anyone else out there would like to see a larger MFT table setup so a person could cross cut a 4x8 sheet of plywood?

I believe most people use a collapsible platform for cutting sheet goods. I know I've seen them on here before but my quick search skills have failed at the moment. :)

Check out the thread "Has anyone built Gary Katz's assembly and cutting table".  It has a lot of good stuff about cutting tables.

Rusty

Google "Paulk workbench" and watch the YouTube videos.  Ron Paulk's workbench is designed with cutting down sheet goods in mind.

I was ready to get his plans and build one, but did not need portability.  I elected to CNC machine my own MDF top, and build a fixed platform for it.  It also serves as the outfeed table for my table saw.

However ... my shop is in the basement, so someday I may build one anyway when I just cannot deal any longer with hauling 4X8 sheets down to the basement!

Thank you. Understand you. But unfortunately the more use the laminate. Function undercut plays important role (although working with TS was not possible), and aerofix competitor in many cases easier to work. Nevertheless, I am sure that the TS 75 is required to appear in my studio, as well as much more from Festool. It's only a matter of time.

Your shop is VERY clean, and looks like it would be a very enjoyable place to work. You must find it very rewarding to work there?

Hi There,

your idea about mounting the MFT-top is amazing!

Are you satisfied with the mounts? Is the tabletop absolutely fixed without any vibration?

Your comment is highly appreciated!

Thank you!

To keep my studio, I have to work a lot. I try to monitor the cleanliness because most of the time I spend in it. My little son thinks that this is my home. Sometimes he asks, "if I have a pillow?" because often return home when he is asleep.
My Workshop I really like. In it, I feel comfortable and cozy. There I have a refrigerator and microwave oven. Warm in winter and cool in summer. Clients often come to my studio to have a drink with me coffee and a chat. I am very grateful to them for their confidence in me. I try not to deny anybody, even when a lot of work. But believe me, my shop was not always so. For me, everything began to change after the first purchase PROFESSIONAL tool.
Previously, the shop looked like.

All this would have been impossible without the professional tools like Festool and others with whom the process of manufacturing products becomes more fun and easy. I will say more. After buying the first Festool, the shop started to change. Became more work. Work has become more interesting.
I agree that this tool is very expensive. But as for me, it's worth it! Because, I want to solve more complex problems. Because, I want to learn every day.

This is awesome.

Are these extra-long MFT side rails available in ekat ?

Did you make your own extra-large MFT top?

Fantastic work and thank you for sharing the photos :)

At least they are sold in Europe and are called MFT/3-TP 2000 LA with #496824!
They are sold in a pair of 2 pieces with length of 2 meter. Cost €169 incl. VAT.

Thank you. I have a suspicion those are NAINA... They don't show up in the US Ekat...

2 years ago I purchased a long mft from a local dealer for $400.  The salesman was not sure how they acquired it but were looking to free up space.  The one top had 2 small cuts and everything else was perfect. The top is 2 pieces, a mft 800 top and a mft 1080 top.  It's used daily on site to rip down sheet goods and assemble what ever I'm working on.  The long side rails are one piece, have never seen them made this length before.

They don't show up in the European EKAT also. But they show up on the regular Festool website as an add-on.
So you might give it a try with your dealer.
But I think it's a difficult product because of the length of 2 meter.

While I was making money for the purchase of components for the table, came up with several options for the design. About a year later I stopped at the last alternative. Thanks to the bottom of the table, was able to save space in the workshop, to accommodate the tool. Have an additional weight, which made the base more stable. In the corners of the MFT is pressed against the bottom of the table with four bolts. Two long profile of the MFT supported by four adjustment bolts. Another two adjusting pins support the upper plate. The very same top plate is attached to the profile of the MFT and its corners. Top plate of the MFT, processed on milling center, to preserve parallelism and angles of holes. The result is a hard, resistant to vibration, multi-function table of the MFT. In the future we plan to adapt to the table INCRA Mast-R-Lift II Router Lift as well as INCRA LS Super System - 25 "& 635mm Range.

While I don't know all the specific references on the FOG, I come across all sorts of ideas for larger MFT's for both assembly and cutting frequently. Some recently have even shown tables which use 2 MFT's on casters. Others are built from scratch using custom tops either purchased or done on their own. There are a lot of these posts; all great ideas. Plus there are YouTube videos on the same topic.
