About three weeks before xmas overheard the Wife mention to her friend, while talking on the phone how it would be nice to have a tray for the coffee table. So I grabbed some scrap pieces of walnut, curly maple, wenge, holly and 1/2" ply. and got to work.

Basic frame is walnut. The handles and dark trim is wenge. The thin inner trim is American holly. The rest is walnut/maple. The tray is 1/2" ply with 1/16" veneered wood on front and back.

The final finish went on the morning of Christmas eve and was wrapped that afternoon.
I can't take credit for the cat pattern, I found it online under free use.
