Laundry Room Cabinets

So as a lot of you know we moved to Az and bought a new home. So the wife wanted some cabinets for the laundry room. It took a while to build and finish as I was working in my uninsulated uncooled garage. We had a record heat this summer with over 50 straight days of temps above 110. I managed to spray them in the morning with the temps about 90' or more. Came out ok considering the temps.

Anyway here they are before and after. Oh yes I installed the trim moulding the next day. The large broom cabinet is one piece about 6' high

No. I fitted the doors first then removed them and sprayed them In the shop/garage.

Nice job! Definitely something else I want to learn more about and do. Are the center panels floating inside the frame?

Btw, I’m from Indiana so we don’t have such extreme temps but we have humidity , ugg. I always smile a little when people would tell us “well, that’s dry heat” and we would say then stick your head in the oven, it’s dry heat lol

I was born and raised in Chicago, moved to NWI 30 years ago, in the process of moving to Colorado Springs. Humdity is definitely lower in CS.

Yes they are floating in grooves. I used Infinity tools Shaker style rail and style bits.  They matched my kitchen and bath from the builder the closest.

I usually use GF white poly. But I found this new stuff called Renner. Its Italian the directions are in italian to. Its thicker then the GF poly. I use a Apollo HVLP and had to use their High Solid spray cap with a 2.0 N/N. For spraying in the high temp it actually flowed pretty good didnt use and thinner.

They also make a brush on that says can be used on verticle surfaces.

Its cheaper than GF white poly per gallon to.

This was the first time I used it. I was happy with it. Ill use it on a couple more projects before Im totally sold on it. I used Enduro coat for a very long time long before they were bought out by GF. So the jurys still out. But yea Ill use it again

Renner is good stuff. Spraying it with a turbine HVLP must have been fun...

It was fun, flowed nice , came out good considering the heat. Now its cooling off so Im going to give it another go on my next project see how it works at normal temps.

Hard to get here. But Eric Reason and others in the US like it a lot.

Looks Great!  For similar projects I use white tinted Resisthane.  It sprays easily and well with my mini mite 3 stage with the stock tip. I also use Hood's primer which helps reduce the number of coats of Resisthane required.  It is a durable finish but it doesn't cover that great.  But over a white primer it is no issue.
