i like hearing when people make their own hamburgers

rather than maccy dees "patties"

the problem is that patties ALWAYS reminds me of cow pats

im guessing that "cow pats" dont need an english / american translation

No, but they do need a H%^ of a lot of L&P!!! :o

When I make my own hamburgers, I mix in crushed saltine crackers, chopped onions , and  worcestershire. The cracker crumbs really help hold the moisture, and also make them less dense.

I like the L&P steak sauce too.

ok, ill go for the question

ive googled city chicken but there seems to be no ONE answer

DD, I am there with Seth and Rob as I to mix it in with my hamburgers and in fact was taught that by my Dad so apparently the Atlantic crossing happened some time ago.  ;) Now as to a City Chicken I cannot even venture a guess.  :) Fred

When I got married this time around, I asked wife to buy Worcester sauce and she brought home Heinz or something. It didn't have the paper wrap. I sent her back for L&P, no substitutes. She said, she would get that next time. I said fine. And then emptied the other brand down the sink and said "time." We are still married.

You guys are making me hungry. ::)Love it on steak and burgers.

Hell, if no steaks or burgers in fridge, I like it on plain baked potato...enough of it and you dont know the meat's missing.

I used 1/2 a bottle cooking dinner tonight :)

Smoked sausage with onions & peppers. yum!

brown sausage in large pan
add 1/2 bottle of L&P
add 1 large chopped onion 1 Large green prpper 1 Lg red pepper, salt & pepper
cover about 5 mins.
uncover & stir
add 3 or four good shots of hot sauce (I use crystal) and a little ketchup to thicken sauce.
let cook uncovered for another 5 - 10 mins.

Perrins. Definitely Perrins. I sound like the Rainman.

Grew up on the stuff - can't live without it. It goes in spaghetti sauce, stir frys, on any grilled meat, marinades, eggs. And, of course, bloody Marys. Or even straight tomato juice.

How many of you thought it was pronounced "Worcestershire"? Welcome to Britain, where nothing is as it seems.  ;)

The other thing from my childhood (part of which was spent in England) was Roses Lime Cordial. Love the stuff, but can't find it in this godforsaken country.

Hi,

On the burgers I forgot to add  - try smoking them for a while before you grill them.
