Just thought I would share my recent experience with Lee Valley...

Yesterday my wife picked up some handles and finish from a store a few hours away. They were short on handles, I figured we had to pick these up at the store on the next trip south. Took a look at the finish - they had pulled the wrong sheen, so I can't use it. So, I called the store, they said no problem and apologized sevaral times (as us Canucks do, I hear!). They will be shipping the backordered handles and sending me the correct finish, at no cost to me. And to boot, they did not ask for my credit card - the kind woman at the other end just asked me to return the mistaken finish next time we are near the store.

My hats off to Rob Lee - you are running a top notch business!

I have learned tons from your videos, you are very generous. I have a question though - what is the history of the Alberta license plate on your shop wall?

Yes! We have a mini-Tim Horton's inside Jobbing.com arena where the Coyotes play.

Some friends have rented the Jobbing.com arena ice March 22 so I get to play on that (with maybe 10 fans in the stand before a big tailgate before the Bruins game.  I plan on leaving room for some of Tim's bits.  It's new... 'bout a month old.

Now LV has to step up the game

The Alberta plate is there to generate intrigue among Canadian viewers   Actually, I grew up in Calgary from 5-10.

I feel your pain, I am in Calgary too. I was at LV just yesterday buying a CT26 and asked about upgrading to a 36mm hose and paying the difference, the 'Festool specialist' acted like I was asking him to open the box and stuff it full with Festool gear. I still bought the CT26 as I was in a rush.

Point to be made is: With KMS and Felder just minutes down the road in either direction, I think Lee Valley needs to up their game. It happened once before already, I called in looking for the SYS-Storage Systainer (499901) and they tell me they have it in stock, so I take the drive and turns out they don't have it; I went ahead and order it but as soon as they tell me it will take up to 2 weeks to get in I asked for a refund. KMS had 2 in stock so I got it from them plus a folding ruler (LV doesn't sell them).

Mind you, I truly love Lee Valley as a whole and I have been a member for years, I would like to think I am a loyal customer. I use my tools to make a living, and I try to be efficient at it and to stay on top of the game (hence the Festools). I know my needs and the work I do, and it's hard not to take it a bit personal when a person behind the counter implies otherwise.
