Do these jugs ever go on sale?  I’m especially interested in the D4R pro but I don’t need it immediately and if they go on sale occasionally then I might wait.

I just pulled the lever on the Leigh D4R Jig plus Accessory package at nearly $820 bucks.  I have not used it on a project yet but at first glance it looks well made.  I have used the Porter Cable Jig before but wanted to get something with a better design and was a little less "guess work" oriented.  As far as your question goes, I spent the last month trying to find a deal on the jig and was unable.

I have don't recall ever seeing them on sale, however they are worth the price IMHO.  I' purcheased D4 in the 90s and have yet to upgrade the parts to the pro version.  The design is excellent as is the build quality.  Leigh has probably the best documented user manual of any tool that I have ever owned.  They company is excellent to do business with, spare parts are readily available and I have built many projects with it over the years.

There is a learning curve to using it and requires some practice to get the jig, and your skills, dialed in initially.  It will be worth the effort.  I highly recommend the vacuum attachment/router support as it works wonders.  Take a look at their many instructional videos as they are well done.

Other than used, nope. Unless you buy one of their lower end models thats sold by a reseller and perhaps there is a coupon code that can be used with that reseller. Other than that I have never seen any deals on them. You can however get deals on the router bit sets as they use Whiteside router bits and there is all kinds of places that let you use coupon codes for Whiteside bits.

I bought mine when the economy tanked...$150.00 less than current price with all bits.  I also bought the FMT with all the jigs  at the same time for $650.00.  Marvelous tools.

I don't see an economic tank in the near future.....
Looks like I'll just take a plunge.
