Length of the 5mm domino cutter - or, did I break the tip off?

I've got a new Domino and have made ~20 mortises with it. I was cutting a mortise into the side of some white oak and I thought I felt a bit of a twang. I tried another mortise after and it was much harder to cut and a 5mm domino didn't fit in - the mortise was a smidge narrow and a very tight fit top to bottom.

Hmmm.

The cutter still looks symmetrical, but I may have snapped the tip off by accident. Can someone send me the length measurement so I can compare? The one I have is 45mm long.

Thanks!

It is very possible I t broke. You can check the depth of the cut to. Verify.

A brand new unused one I have is 48.6mm long.

Happened to me as well. I keep a couple of spares on hand now.

Be careful if you plan to cut into the piece as there is probably a small piece of very hard metal buried in the slot.

I started having trouble inserting dominoes and after sanding down a couple to fit, I decided to chock the tip witha magnifying glass...sure enough one side was chipped evry so slightly.  I now keep extras of the ones I use most.
