Does anyone here know if you can connect Festool air sander to your regular compressor coupler or fittings?
Or do I have to buy their hose for this to work?

The short answer is, "I don't know.", but I can hardly imagine Festool would lock their air tools to a specific fitting. The tool may come with a fitting but I think yyou would just need to change it to one compatible with your present hoses.

I would suggest that you contact Festool USA directly.  Not many of us here have the Lex sanders.

All current Festool air sanders have an IAS 2 connection only. That means you can not connect a standard air hose directly.

Festool does sell two adapters to make the connection with a standard hose.

I'd say Alex nailed it...

The Festool LEX air sanders are designed so that the hose supplies drive air and returns the exhaust air through the IAS 2 hose. That exhaust air could have moisture so they don't want it exhausting on the work piece. It could also conceivably have contaminants that can ruin the work piece. Additionally, exhaust air at the sander could cause the sanding dust to get blown airborn instead of going into the dust extractor.
