List of Seneca Parallel Guide Enhancements

I just got my Seneca Parallel guides this week and I used them yesterday and I am so freaking thrilled with them.  I wanted to post all of the enhancements in one post since I had to hunt for them to find them.

What I love about this the most is that there is no longer any play within the track and knobs.  It wasn't bad but these knobs make it so much easier to tighten down.

Garry actually got this from someone else but I am not sure who so he gets credit for pointing it out lol. He uses the Woodpecker rule to measure and it is amazing how accurate it is.  Few tips with this one make sure the stop is parallel and make sure your blade is cutting on the strip.  For doing thin stock,  you will want to get the 300mm or 12 inch ruler (not pictured)

Thank you to both [member=11629]GarryMartin[/member] and [member=59951]Dick Mahany[/member] for these tips they definitely make getting accurate cuts while breaking down plywood pleasant.

[member=65062]DynaGlide[/member] Nice - I saw this and since I hadn't used them I read this as an alternative.  Now I understand, your method.  Thanks for posting it again I will def be adding this technique as well.

Great tips all of them...never thought of the square idea...I also use the woodpecker rule and stop. I butt it up to the side of the rail where the parallel guides are mounted and do some math.. I'll have to try Gerry's way. Here is another little tip I can't believe it took me so long to discover.....lol

Here's the way I came up with to keep the guides tight against the edge of the sheet, pushing on the edge of the rail and pulling the stops on the Incra tracks against the edge of the sheet. Made from an extra connector and a Rockler knob.

I use the same know to apply pressure along the track when I'm cross-cutting with the rail and GRS square, force applied to the knob keeps the square tight against the edge of the sheet and your body automatically applies the force as you lean into the cut.

I have the Rip Dogs guides, followed Richard's instructions for set up and have been very happy with them, but some nice hints here too.

Yes Tomp very good idea. I'll have to find my other guides and give that a go. Great for shorter rips or crosscuts but still prefer the clamps for ripping 8 foot sheets..but your method is much faster for pieces that won't fit on mft, or if you don't have an mft.
