made this thing a while back and meant to post it.
small mft top, risers attached, for general cutting and cross cutting on site.
Qwas dogs and rail dogs for rail/workpiece alignment.
overall height is that of a sys1 plus 2mm for a rubber mat/shelf liner sheet so a sys 1 with anti slip mat on top of it can be used to support the left end of longer sheets hanging off.
(the anti slip business is very helpful for careful work)
handle on the underside for easy carry.
clip sorta works ok keeping the rail on.
that small mft top is only 50 bucks or so, so this doohickey is pretty cheap, and very portable.
an improvement would be rubber feet, and maybe hinged riser boards.

(also- i'd be very surprised if i'm the first one to do this...)

clip/rail- the rail is held on by the rail dogs, clip reduces their tendency for slipping outward

Good idea , would be nice if it stacked on systainers too but that would make it smaller.

That is pretty close to the size of the old MFT-800. Too bad Festool doesn't make a small MFT anymore.

If others want to copy this idea it might be smart to start with a replacement top from and MFT-800.
Or a replacement for the MFT-3 and cut it in two.

yes, that perforated plate is the replacement for the older, small size MFT, the 800 I guess it was.
i just bought the replacement top and used it here. it costs a lot less than the other ones and is a good size (this is 1.5yrs old, I assume that replacement top is still available)

I think the size of the MFT/Kapex  would be good too.
