Hello Everyone

I am getting ready to make 10 cabinets which is very unusual for me. Generally I make one or two custom cabinets at a time. I have invested in the LR23 guide plate, mandrel, and a dowel bit.  Had the rail with holes.  To purchase the additional components of 2 edge guides with stops and 2 guide rail index would be another chunk of money.  Someone said they are not needed. What is your opinion given my situation. Thank you for answering. Bil

How do you plan on using the LR32 kit without all of the components? With what you have you can line the rail up and do a row of holes 32mm apart. .with no way to reference off either end of your panels or ensure that you have parallel holes front to back.

The edge guides and end stops establish the distance from the edges and ends. The edge distance you may be able to use a block of wood at each end to establish that the guide rail is parallel to the edge and the right offset. The end stops on the other hand establish the first hole being an exact multiple of 32 mm and while you can come up with home made devices to do that, but it is a question of whether you like making tools or using well proven aids. I would strongly urge getting the latter for sure.

Excellent answers and advice from both of you.  I will purchase the balance of components.  Thank you!
