Hi ,

I am looking to get a longer guide rail, ( I currently have two FS 1400 and joiners ) and saw the 2424 only to realise that it would be too short to cut up 8'x4' sheets so I'll probably end up with a 2700 or 3000. But it does ask the question, why is it that length, it would be nice to get two tools for one expenditure  :)

Cheers

I believe it's 2424 so it will fit inside a finished pantry type cabinet.  I understand why there is a 2424 rail but It's certainly frustrating as an owner of the LR32 system that ALL RAILS don't have the holes.  My dealers were good when it came to my 1400 rails in that they gave me holey rails instead of standard with my purchases. But my long rails don't have holes and it's a pain for no reason other than extra aftermarket sales. It is what it is but I don't like it.

If you're still trying to decide, I would definitely go for the 3000 rather than the 2700, assuming space and money are no object.  The 2700 is just long enough to cut 8ft with the 55, but with the 75, which requires more overhang, you're cutting it really thin, so to speak.  You can also do angled cuts on a 4x8 sheet with the 3000.

Thanks for your replies, I'm after a holey guide rail, at the moment, but was trying to use it as an excuse to get a long one as well , I'll probably just go for a 1400 for the time being, and try and invent an excuse to buy a 3000 later.
