LS130 LS 130 EQ Review Duplex

Now that's a sweet little repair, please post a  picture of the final repair after finish  if you can. Just ordered a 130 for an application I had in mind, looks like I made a good choice.

Hey Nick, I am glad to hear you ordered the LS130. You are going to love it. I just ordered the RAS115 from Timmy C. as I have a personal corner cupboard that I have wanted to strip for years but hate chemical strippers. When I read Matthews write up of the RAS115 it sounded perfect for what I need EXCEPT now I have to work on the cupboard.  :) ;) :o 8) Fred

Fred I keep buying Festools trying to keep up with you and there you again out doing me!

I will post my experience with the LS 130 with pics and all in this thread next week.

by the way,

Amongst all the excellent uses discussed for the LS130 there is still another use that I don't believe I've seen discussed here.
Upon designing and fabricating some of my furniture pieces I'm starting to integrate aluminum and brass into the mix.

One of the uses I find the LS130 very useful for is giving aluminum (or brass) a brushed look, because of its directional capabilities.
I find myself using the Viles pads in its various forms, such as the a100, a280, or s800 grits giving it different brushed looks not so easily achieved by hand using the various scotchbrites available on the market.

Monte, what a great use of the LS130.

Nick, I am not the Joneses but keep trying buddy. : ;) Fred

Hi,

Another unforseen use, excellent!      I just keep finding useful odd spots to use this sander now that I have it.

Hi,

Yes, I will post a pic when it is done.    And I will try to make it a better quality pic than the first ones.    Not sure when it will be done but I hope soon because I look forward to seeing it myself.

Another great use for the LS130 is sanding window frames. Because of the linear motion you can sand right up to the glass without your sander banging against it or scratching the glass as a rotary motion sander would.

Hi,

Sanding narrow flutes with LS130.  If I had a few feet to do it would probably be quicker by hand. But 80 feet is a bit different.   20 minutes with the Duplex, and very thorough.  It also put a nice subtle bevel on the inside edges and softened the look. Just right. :)

So just out of curiosity, the do-it-yourself profile kit for this - is it any good for sanding something like this?
