I just purchased the LS130 Linear Sander. Included in the Systainer is a bag with 4 screws. They appear to attach the sanding pad to the base of the sander. Is it necessary to use these all the time or are they only to be used under specific circumstances (rough surfaces or with the scraper perhaps)?

The screws are to more securely attach the pad.  I have never used them, and have never had a pad come loose.

I also wondered about the four screws. I think they may  be used when using the scraping attachment but I am not sure.

is there any more info on that scraping attachment. i cant find it on the fog or festool site

I would be confident in saying that you could peel up a linoleum floor with this attachment, rather efficiently.

Thanks Seth. It does indeed work fine without the screws.
