I use my MFT for hand planing so I wanted some wooden bench dogs. Using a 20mm Famag plug-cutter I made some bench dogs for my MFT today.

As a side note: This is how I secure the MFT to the wall when hand planing. This table is going nowhere!

I've heard of some wooden dogs made with a lathe but that's the first I've seen with a plug cutter.  [smile]

Nice job and looking good.  [thumbs up]

nice job where did you get the large plug cutter as they are hard to find over here

There was no play at all. I actually had to sand them very lightly to make the dogs enter.

You've had them several weeks now. Have you noticed any expansion or contraction issues with them?

Alan M, if you try D I Y Pursuits in Galway, Mike will have or get Famag Plug cutters for you.

It's been busy lately, but today I finally got around to check my wooden dogs for expansion or contraction.

They are perhaps somewhat more loose fitting than earlier, but they still fit very nicely.
