Very handy for edge banding by accident.

I keep the off cuts from straight lining boards with the track saw. I just put them near the planer. When I am running other stuff through the planer I plane them while I am at it to take the rough side off and get a uniform thickness. I store them in a rack made from 4" PVC pipe. That way I frequently have a piece for banding or whatever readily available with almost no extra work.

Excellent tip, will start doing that, but I bet your production rate will be extremely greater.  [smile]
