I want to purchase one of the above, does anyone have experience with:

Bostitch MFN200 or Powernail 45R?

I know the later is a ratcheting version - is that really necessary?  I have a job to do next week and want to buy one.  It's a tool I will not really use very often.  Which would you choose? Any feedback on using either of these is appreciated or any other tips on laying T&G flooring on battens.

Thank you

I have the Bostitch air nailer and the powernail non-air nailer. Sorry don't know the model numbers, both are stored right now. Standard ones everyone has, probably same number. I've had both for a number of years. Both work great, no problems with either. I use the Bostitch air gun for full rooms +. The non air powernail gun for smaller spaces or repairs. Sorry can't give you any better details than both have worked really well for me, never repaired either with years of use.

Hi Troll

We have that Bostitch nailer and the pnuematic one that shoots 1/2" X 2+" crown staples (I would have to go and look up the model #).

The Bostich cleat nailer is a good one, works well, never breaks down, and will definately test your ability to swing the mallet hard and accurately.  Those cleats hold like a mofo, which we know after we had to tear out some flooring that had some defects.

I know that Powernail model from seeing it on the jobsite...it is supposed to be a good one as well.

I got the Bostitch because the fasteners are available everywhere here.
