Hi AWIL66,
I used Trans tint dye for the first time ever to try and make the top grain POP and I thought I ruined the top at first.
I mixed the dye with water, trial and error, and tried it on a scrap piece until I found a tone I liked. Well It was going great and looked great and I put it all on and wiped off the excess and went inside to eat dinner while it dried. Well I came out from dinner and almost had a heart attack...The top and legs looked like I painted them with Chocolate covered paint, it darkened to almost a solid brown as it dried!!!!!!! OH S--- I thought. Well I called my friend and he said to sand it and the dye would stay in the pores and the rest would sand away, wish he told me that before... Out comes the RO 125 and 90 and this is where we ended up. The Bush Oil really heped give it depth too,
