Marking plumbing when putting down new subfloor

I am seeing if any Foggers have any good tips for marking the existing plumbing (toilet and sink drain) when putting down a new subfloor?  I have measured and could transfer my measurements and then cut out, but I got 2 different measurements, but only about 5/16 difference when measuring the toilet to the studs.  I was thinking of putting chalk on the rim of the toilet drain and seeing if it would transfer to plywood.

spit + chalk line chalk or good old lipstick. i usually measure though.

I just measure everything on center, drill, cut, bore as needed. Drop in place. Remeasure, doubt anything moved between measurements. The center of the flange off the tank wall should be 12 or 10 inches. 12 is the most common center set in the last 40 years.

If you're going to add sub floor and tile you should cut the toilet flange off, lay the plywood, set the tile, bore the floor, install flange so it sits on the floor and gets bolted down. Other choice is a Socket Saver.
