I am working on an older motorhome that sustained a lot of water damage over the years (rotten walls, etc.) I removed the old cabinets which were oak, very nice quality. Most of these cabinets had to be cut apart to remove them. I would like to make new ones but out of a different material other than oak. The motorhome will be subject to a wide range of temperatures and humidity. Are there any suggestions for material suited for this type of environment other than oak?
Thanks

If you are talking about cabinets I think that you would be ok with most anything.  What would be more of a concern I would think rather than temperature would be humidity and also the fastener holding aspects of the wood.  Motor homes have bumps and vibrations.

MDF and crown staples work OK for stationary cabinetry, but not worth a hoot in something that's going to do the bump-and-grind routine, so I'd avoid using both.

I have built 3 buses,on my fourth.worked on many more.what I found to to be bombproof is weld metal frame, cabinet grade plywood skin ,bolted and screwed&glued.problem with motorhomes is they are all wobble boxes,i wont work(construction) on motor homes, except for friends, just buses.never comes out as good as new, always flaws
