Hi,
        I'm thinking of getting a few maxi Systainers to house odd shaped tools and other site install things
Any advice is  appreciated
How do you use yours ?
Am i better off with Sys4 ?
I want to compartmentalize the Maxi, will that be easy and what material should I use ?
the bottoms are ribbed should i line them ?
How strong are the lids, I use my other Systainers as hop ups all the time

I want to go with the Maxi as its less like a mensa test to get things back in at the end of a job
(is it me or dose everything get bigger when its time to packup  [smile])
I want to convert to all Systainers boxes as the shelving in my workshop is set for a sys4 height.
Anyone made a sysport for Maxi's ?
I want to keep my Paslode IM350 in one , is the maxi going to work ?

thanks in advance

Hi Wood_Junkie

thats why i was thinking of sub dividing
I have a large Hilti box that has a handle like the maxi there better at getting through a home with out
any paint chips along the way

Maybe this is what you're looking for. I've just cut the MDF into the right size (it's getting narrower reaching the bottom of the Maxi) and routed a notch in the center.

Keep in mind that Maxi's aren't as well supported as systainers. Festool doesn't provide for sysports or trolleys. And it's impossible to put 2 trolleys to one another and place underneath the maxi.

thanks FestFan

I don't move tools that far by hand if i can help it
I could make a buggy board with rollers.  Dose the maxi have indents like a sys to stop the maxi's falling off
IF the dividers were taller it could support the lid making the box stronger ?
I'm getting a Maxi for 46.99 uk pounds which is 71.37 US dollar

I recently picked up a Maxi Systainer to store my Bostitch F28WW framing nailer, which didn't come with a case. It fits perfectly, but if I didn't need the larger dimensions, I'd much prefer a standard Sys. The Maxi is a pretty big beast.

well i went for it found some at a good price

got some latches as well

I going to try and get most of my festools in these
I intend to make a maxi sysport

One question i have is can the lids be reinforced with fiber glass and resin or will they melt/ not stick
Thanks in advance for any feedback

Afternoon Festastic,

Nice stack of maxis, where did you get the latches from , want some so that i can identify my non festool systainers, you know, orange ones for the fein super cut, blue for bosch sds, dark green for a first aid kit.
Thanks John

Hi windmill man

Caseline Storage Limited Telephone: - +44 (0)1865 301401

They go for 50p each. These are all the colours they carry .
They have some deals on sys1's at the moment

good hunting

Do these maxi's latch to other maxi's at all? Not because I have any interest in carrying a stack of them but for the sake of transport I would like them to stay together. I know that regular systainers will latch to them. I have yet to purchase any because I remain unsure if there is $102.00 ea. worth of suitability to me right now.

Hi Harry

They do latch together and with standard systainers locked on they are stable for transport
your 102 dollars works out to 66 pounds [eek] i paid 45pounds inc VAT so  went for them  [smile]

D'oh,

Yeah now that I looked at your pics a little closer........ why WOULDN'T they.

just an idea  on transporting the maxi Systainers

Hey Greg,

What's the problem?  The latches match the paint job very nicely.

Managed to get this made

I decided to make a rough one first from left overs in the workshop. I'm trying it out on a 4 day  job I started today.
For a start I need to make a lighter version I used some leftover boltic birch pl, it weighs a ton  [eek]

Have started organized my maxi systainers

Here's what I came up for my 0F1400

[attachthumb=#]

before I carried it in a sys 4 and the router bits in a separate sys1. Im trying to make it so that there are fewer boxes to fetch or forget

the router bits are double stacked

[attachthumb=#]

this is the content of the box

[attachthumb=#]

[attachthumb=#]

[attachthumb=#]

the lid and base have camping mat foam  to stop things getting damaged

[attachthumb=#]

the lid holds the instructions for my worktop jig and the 0f1400.

Hope that's  useful to someone
