Interesting, how does this improve on the Armor Tool dog clamps I bought years ago or the Bessey clamps?

What is the maximum capacity, does it even approach the 5.5" capacity of the Armor Tool Dog Clamp?

Bob I'd say the benefit is this shouldn't deform the 20mm holes. The force is pulling up against the bottom of the sheet rather than inside the hole.

Guessing capacity if a couple inches at most.

That would be a plus. If that' the case they should change their ad and promote that aspect of their clamp over the others.

Yes, I would not like to deform the dog holes on my MFT. I don't use the Armor clamps on my MFT, I use them on my hard maple bench and they have deformed those dog holes a little. MDF would not hold up as well.

The kind of toggle clamp I've used once with the clamping knob on the bottom doesn't deform holes, but does require the mounting from the bottom, not as convenient as the Power-Loc.

What would have made the Power-Loc (about $30US more expensive than the one I tried) more appealing is if it was a tool-free accessory.

Some holdfasts are easily over $100US a piece.

Thank you all for commenting on  TSO’s new  Power-Loc Toggle Clamp so we can clarify and explain further.

Key advantages:
• One-hand clamping and unclamping in operation.
• Quickly relocated with changing set-up needs – all from above the workbench top.

Key point: this is a workholding device designed to immobilize a workpiece on the workbench. Unlike a screw clamp designed to apply serious clamping force, this Power-Loc is intended to act more like a dead-bolt – limiting vertical movement of the toggle clamp. The limited clamping force needed makes it sufficient to rotate the Locking Lug into position just touching the underside of the worksurface.

By preventing the dog body from being tilted during clamping, the dog hole is not elongated by repeated activation of the Toggle Clamp.

When I install the Power-Loc using a 5mm Hex Driver, I just twirl the Hex Shaft between my thumb and index finger until the Locking Lug reaches it respective travel limit. No hand cranking to tighten at all.

Performance of the Bessey Toggle Clamp remains unchanged from the standard Bessey product.
Dictated by each application this Power-Loc version is dimensionally different than our standard Power-Loc for connecting two sheets of material, one on top of the other.

We could, but the economics of that part alone is really questionable and poses customer service problems because now we have customers disassembling and re-assembling leading to questions. Time will tell us what to do.

What would you use the bare Power-Loc with - or for?
- and at what unit price would you be prepared to buy two or more? The "attach from below" SENECA Clamp Dog is priced at $ 39.95 each - on sale right now for $ 34.95 plus whatever Toggle Clamp the customer chooses.

Yes, the shorter dog alone.

My use would be attaching something fairly thin, ~1/8"-1/4", to a single 18mm layer, with the dog flush to the MFT top.  I can see your dilemma as the thickness variation probably makes this impractical to sell & it's use of a nylock means it would have to be disassembled.

I'd be willing to pay a price in line with the standard power loc,
