Memorial flag case - Need ideas

Hello to all, I am looking for a very decorative idea for a memorial flag case for my fathers Navy flag. When I was researching my purchase of the Incra 1000 HD miter gauge system, I saw something really cool on the idea but I can not find it again. I am going to use mahogany and curly maple that I have left over from other projects and I thought I would use the Incra ultra jig for decorative dovetail designs in the joints but I feel the 67.5 degree miter would be a problem. Any thoughts and ideas would be deeply appreciated.

  I have made shadow boxes with mitered corners and then ran the corners through a dovetail bit utilizing a shop made jig  to hold the case and a router table.  Then I made dovetail keys and slid them in.  Sawed of the excess and hand planed them down.

I thank you both for your input. It has been awhile since I posted this topic and I have decided to make a case out of leftover mahogany with curly maple details. I will do the dovetails as BIP suggested, out of curly maple and inlay some stripes as well. I will post pictures when it is done. As far as the websites that sell them, I did not see anything that was different and intersting enough so I thought I would create my own. I look forward to completing this project and I will post pictures. Again, I thank you for your contributions.
