does anyone have or use this table saw?

just i am thinking about getting one but am not sure.  i have heard that metabo is a quality brand, in line with the likes of makita and milwaukee.

I have the 36/18 cordless model and it is great, my son in law bought the corded and is identical.  Biggest table in portable range.  I mounted mine on a DeWalt folding stand.

I looked at one in a dealer here as I'm still keeping an eye out for a viable alternative to a DeWalt 745 table saw, now discontinued.  It's okay I guess, but it's not of a similar spec or build from what I could see and feel to the DeWalt, a model I'd owned before I moved here.  I'd consider the 745 to be of equivalent quality to a Makita / Milwaukee etc.  I guess it'll depend on your expectations and use case, but try to get your hands on one before buying if you can't stick it in a box and fire it back via DPD or whatever.

I have a Makita 2704N here which is a little larger, but it'll still fit in the back of a Passat/Mondeo/Octavia estate sized car, or similar hatchback if needed, for some sense of size.  It'll take a 260mm blade and give around 90mm max cut.  Plenty of power, electronic brake etc.  Really well built (in the USA) and it's been sold now for something like 17 years.  Great spares availability and mine has had dogs abuse as they say over the years.  Faultless service.  It's just a bit more than I need these days for what I'd use a table saw for, so I'd have replaced it with a more compact 745 if that had been an option.

If compact is the main thing you need, see if you can get a Bosch GTS 10J for handy money.  Otherwise, look into the 2704N or get up close to that Metabo before you'd get stuck with it.

The  leg  design  is  clever  and  lets  you  fold  and  unfold  the machine  in seconds.

The one  flaw  is  the rising  and  lowering  thread  design.
It  is  aluminium  and  wears  out  quickly. When I say  quickly  mine  lasted  about  2  years  with  moderate  use.
The  new  part  was  £40  which I fitted  myself.
I did  mean  to take  the old  one to a machinist  and  have a  steel  bush  inserted.

The one I use is the HPT, bought it not realizing that it was not same battery platform as the regular Metabo but still would not give it up.

That's not the same saw.

The TS254 and the TS254m are different units. 

Very different saws in terms of quality.  What you have is like the Makita 2704n in terms of build and features.  What NEC is looking at is more like the Makita MLT100 in terms of quality.  They look similar enough, but the devil is in the detail.

Its  still a  254mm  blade.  But  this  time  with  an  under  sized  motor.
Certainly not  for  me. On  ripping  occasions,  often times  my  motor  cuts  out  on over  heat.
And  from the parts  list,  part no  48  looks  the  same.
