I will get told off for my contribution but one has to say that one is constantly amazed that the leaders of the free world still use a medieval measuring system. SI units (System Internationale), also commonly referred to as metric have been around for a while now. There are of course 2 other countries that are still Imperial, Liberia & Myanmar.

I should add that as a metric Brit I still drink pints of beer, calculate all journeys in miles and measure my willy in inches.

Kitchens, which is my thing, are all about millimetres.

Unless I buy sheet material, which I always refer to as 8x4 which is actually 2440mm x 1220mm. Plasterboard for some strange reason is 2400mm x 1200mm.

If I build a stud wall it's 3x2 or 4x2 and I have no idea what the metric size is.

Somehow I get through every day relatively unscathed.

I received my order today but there was a bit of a mix up with OF 1400 scale, they sent me an imperial one. It’s useful if I sell mine but I’ll have to call and get them to send me the metric one.

Ordered Metric, got Imperial.  Seems like we are all having the similar issue.

Just FYI the Metric Depth Adjuster for the TS 75 is 491983.  Ordered one today, the part itself is about $16.xx + tax and shipping made it out to $25.  Hope it's east to figure out how to change it out.

How can you be "amazed at the leader of the free world" when you point out the inconsistency in your own country about using pints, miles, 8x4 or 3x2 etc.  It is due to the amount of legacy measurements that are very expensive to change.

Ok, that's encouraging. Every once in a while I've been really wanting a TS75, but I just can't bring myself to buy one of the new ones. And by the time a used Metric one comes up I've found another way to solve the problem…

BTW, how hard was it to install?

On a TS55, 10mins.

The only tricky part is figuring out which screws to remove.
