MFK 700 base question

I am looking into getting the MFK700 router set. I was going to order the zero degree base for it right away, but I notice there is also a edge trimming base for it. I know one is vertical and the other is horizontal, but the edge trimming base looks similar to what comes with the router in the set. What am I missing? Figured this was the easiest place to get an answer. Thanks in advance.

The set includes the 1.5 degree horizontal base.  You have to buy the zero degree horizontal base separately no matter if you go basic or set.

The edge trimming base has a follower bearing brake. It also has an offset plate on the base inboard side  to raise the plate above the edge band. The vertical position allows you to get into inside corners/radiuses.

You can get the 700 with just the brake plate. I believe you'll find it if in the Conturo section of the Festool website.

The 700 is my favorite Festool router.

Thanks guys. Is there anything else I should get with the set other than the zero degree plate? Figure I may as well just get what I need at once.

You will also want the 491666 router bit as well for use with the MFK in the horizontal (1.5 or 0 degree) orientation.

I have just purchased the MFK 700 set also. My question is does parallel edge guide comes with a set or it is an option? if anybody could provide me an answer that would be great. Thanks.

Where do you find a part # for the bearing brake. What a great idea. I want to get it but can't find it listed as an accessory or on EKAT.
Thanks

If you already have the MFK 700 Set, you'll probably want the 500590 base assembly, which has the bearing brake and offset plate.  Otherwise, trimming and profiling is still a two-step operation.

I realized this thread is old but wondering if the mentioned base, 500590, is the same or different than the vertical base that comes with the MFK 700 Set currently?

Different. It has a raised platform to clear the edgebanding. The standard one is totally flat.
