MFK 700 question

I just bought the MFK 700 with the intention of using it mainly for trimming edge banding. I usually band plywood with 1/2 to 3/4" solid wood banding. Do any of you do this and would you use the 0 degree or the 1.5 degree base? I know this router is ideal for trimming veneer banding but I like to use solid wood to give the shelf some extra strength. I typically use a bigger router with a bearing bit but love the light weight of the MFK and hope it will be my go to router for this. If not I'm going to take it back and get the 1010 or the 1400 with the appropriate guides. I'm getting spoiled with Festool and the superior dust collection and finding myself not using my other tools as much. It truly is a slippery slope.

From my experience, the banding has to be less than 5/8" thick.  You are limited by the size of the bit you can install when using the horizontal bases.

I bought the kit which includes the 1.5* base, and assumed that I would also want to add the 0* base later.  So far, I haven't needed the 0*.

This is the primary use of my MFK, and it performs beautifully.  The only consideration is the thickness of the banding, as mentioned above.

My experience in edgebanding is good as well. The 1.5 degree base works well, the small angle doesn't show and it doesn't mar the top face. The band does need to be less than 5/8ths. I always do 1/2" myself.

I use the 1.5 degree base for banding that is around 3/8.  It is almost impossible to see the angle on the finished product.
