I saw the video below and unfortunately, the poster never put what bit he was using. I wanted to know if anyone using the MFK700 have done this technique and can recommend a bit that they use with it for doing vertical milling.

It's helpful for trimming dovetails or finger joints that are proud of the casework. Or potentiallybutterflies that are placed in cracked live edge pieces.

I think you could use any relatively short straight cutting bit of a diameter that will fit in the MFK.  I have an 8mm bit straight cutter from Festool that I have used for trimming proud dominos, though a flush cutting saw can be equally useful if you are close to an edge.

[member=167]neilc[/member] that is exactly what I am looking for. By any chance do you have a link to the router bit you used for proud dominos?

[member=69101]thedevme[/member] I thought he posted in the video comments the bit he used. Either way it should be this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000P4JMLY/ref=oh_aui_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

The problem with trying a different bit is the height in this non-intended use of the MFK using the horizontal base 'vertically'

You are right I missed that - I thought it was someone else commenting and not him lol. Thanks for pointing that out.

I know that guy.  [big grin]

The CMT 801.128.11B works well, gives you a little more travel adjustment. I also use he Festool bit for edge band trimming, I’ll have to find the number.

LOL thanks Tom - buying the CMT I really like how you used it on dominos - I would like to do drawer construction with them and this is perfect.

Check out the Festool surfacing router bit: 500368.

I think that is what you are looking for. Gives a 28mm cut width.
