I have a 1080, got it second hand for a good price with the low profile clamps :)

The element that locks down the angle guide on the 1080 rail, is it meant to be able to be loosened to allow the guide to move yet still stay it its position? Whenever I loosen it to move the angle guide it doesn't seem to have any way to stay in place so I have to check my alignment every time.

Another solution is to put a 1/4 or 5/16 inch bolt and nut in the groove behind the fence lock element. Tighten the bolt and nut so it rest against the element. Now you can loosen and move the element and still bring it right back to the proper spot.

Patrick,

just make some pencil marks on the outer edge of the MFT top where the fence crosses it at 90% and 45%.(or whatever angles you often use) that makes it easy to get back to previous settings. It's also very accurate since you're using a protractor that has about 4' radius.
