Hello!
New here and new to cabinet making. I just got a KS 55 and a couple of rails. Somebody gave me an almost new MFT/3 BASIC table and want to complete this with the needed attachments. I already have the following items:

FS 1400/2
FS 1080/2

Swivel Unit (497023)
Support Unit (497022) Both units already ordered from Festool's spare parts website. Interestingly I could not find this on their regular website.

The items displayed with the complete MFT/3 table look different and could only be ordered from the Festool spares website as separate parts.

I think I need the following, but I am not 100% sure:

Angle Stop FS-WA (577040)
Guide Extension FS-WA-VL (577041)
Adjustable Stop (495542)
Additional Clamp MFT/3-ZK (495541).
Deflector FS/2-AW (204787)

Questions for you experienced people out there:

1) Are all these parts correct? For example the Angle Stop FS-WA is different than the CMS Router Table Miter Gauge displayed with the complete MFT/3

2) Are there parts that I need but missed?

3) Or should I go a different, aftermarket route?

4) I also want to mention that I am not going into mass production here, just a number of cabinets, drawers and other items. So not to spend a fortune would be good, although I have a tendency not to buy cheap stuff.

I contacted Festool already, have not heard from them yet, but wanted to see what experiences a variety of people had

Hope you can help!

You might also consider skipping the whole Festool MFT3 "upgrades" and look for a pair of dogs to use as a fence.  TSO has a variety of UJK products that might serve you better for making cabinetry cuts than the Festool setup.

I don't use my MFT for cutting, but I found the Festool setup fairly fiddly.  The dog-based aftermarket setups seem simpler/more robust to me.

Since you got the MFT don't neglect checking Facebook Marketplace. Every once in a while, I'll see someone out there selling the MFT components (fence, angle, rail adapter) for pretty reasonable prices.

If you are going to go the entire Festool route I believe you missed the "feather Keys" what are stops that are inserted into the front and rear extrusions to allow you to remove all the other stuff and then relatively quickly reinstall to the same locations.  You will need 2 of 437377, and 2 of the screws 772405.  On the Ekat drawings they are parts 4 & 5.

When I wanted a second set I found someone here in the classifieds selling everything for between $100 and $150 (except the rail) which was comparable to the price difference of the MFT/3 and the MFT Basic at the time.

The angle stop (the protractor head) was different from the MFT and the CMS.  The CMS had a longer arm which if used on the MFT would allow the rear fence to come further forward towards the user.

These two aren't part of the MFT:
Angle Stop FS-WA (577040)
Guide Extension FS-WA-VL (577041)

For using the rail, you need:
Hinged rail adapter
Rail support adapter

If you want to use the original fence, you'll need the fence itself and the 'protractor' - sorry, not sure of their official names. I'm guessing they are the 'swivel unit' and 'support unit' on your list?

If going with the original Festool rail hinge ('adapter'), I highly recommend the TSO 'MFT Aligned' accessory, it fixes issues that the rail hinge has.
